London. Circa £72,000 + excellent benefits.
The British Lung Foundation is the only UK charity for all types of lung conditions – from COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer to mesothelioma. We fund vital medical research; campaign against air pollution and for better services; and produce award-winning information that helps patients and their families.
Building on considerable recent campaign successes, including the introduction of legislation relating to smoking in cars and tobacco packaging, we are now looking for a creative and dynamic Director of Policy and Communications to lead our multi-award-winning Communications team.
Why the British Lung Foundation?
You are passionate about using your policy and communication skills to make a real difference to the lives of more than twelve million people who live with lung disease in the UK today. Reporting to the Chief Executive and as an active member of the Executive team, you will be our loudest voice helping us achieve our vision.
You will lead, motivate and inspire a high-performing team of 7 to help us create a compelling voice with leading policy-makers and influencers, including key figures in Government, Parliament, NHS England, Public Health England, NICE, the media, as well as our beneficiaries, carers, donors, trustees, employees and volunteers.
You will have experience of managing a communications team in a third sector and/or health related organisation. In addition you will be able to evidence significant policy and communications experience at a national level and have a proven track record of developing and executing well-evidenced policy strategies and approaches that have far reaching and demonstrable impacts.
So, if you need a new challenge where you can make a real difference to a deserving population we would love to hear from you. We are an organisation with a great reputation and huge ambition, an inclusive and team-focused culture, excellent salary and benefits and a team of staff who are proud of what they do and who they work for.
