Virgin Media is supercharging the UK with a £3bn investment programme, ‘Project Lightning’, to expand its ultra fast fibre optic network to 17 million homes and businesses – adding 4 million premises to its network.
As one of Virgins Media’s new Regional Public Affairs Officers, you will be responsible for representing Virgin Media locally and helping deliver the single biggest private investment in UK internet infrastructure in over a decade.
Building a team of advocacy professionals across the UK, Virgin Media has partnered with Ellwood Atfield to recruit for a number of regional roles across Scotland; Northern England; West Midlands; East Midlands; Wales; Home Countries; South East; South West, and Greater London.
The Regional Public Affairs Officers will be responsible for building relationships with political leaders, council officials (particularly highways, planning and economic development), and stakeholder organisations at a regional level across priority regions under Virgin Media’s network extension programme.
As a Regional Public Affairs Officer, you’ll have:
- Experience working with local authorities and an understanding of how decisions are made
- Influenced local decision-making on planning
- An in-depth understanding of the political and policy dynamics of local authorities
- Relevant experience advocating external stakeholders on behalf of an organisation at a national or regional level.
